Kyrgyzstan is completing its participation in 16 days of activism to end gender-based violence.
“16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” international campaign, first initiated in 1991 by the Women's Global Leadership institute, took its start on November 25 and ends on December 10, the Sezim crisis center said.
To date, the campaign involved more than 1,000 organizations from 130 countries of the world. In Kyrgyzstan, over 100 organizations take part annually in the campaign.
In 2014, Kyrgyzstanis conducted a national contest among children for the best drawing themed "My happy family". The purpose of the children's competition was to raise awareness for the problems of domestic violence, to form the non-violent behavior among the younger generation, to promote the family values, and to attract the attention of adults to the needs and wishes of children.
