The Kyrgyz diaspora Sary Chelek is planning to hold a concert in Yekaterinburg, Russia on March 2 with the slogan Uluu Manas urpagy, Unitpa kaada saltyndy (Generation of Manas do not forget your tradiitions), which will be dedicated to the day of Ak Kalpak (Kyrgyz men's national headwear), the press service of the Asociation Zamandash reported.
It is planned to hold competitions for the best performance of folklore songs, knowledge of Kyrgyz customs and traditions. All invited guests are asked to come in national costumes to emphasize the sophistication and beauty of the national dress of the Kyrgyz people.
"The celebration of the Ak Kalpak Day in Yekaterinburg is held annually. All generations of Kyrgyz living in this area gather here. Young people are getting familiar and accustomed to the traditions and customs of their people,” Chairman of the Kyrgyz diaspora Urmatbek Kurbanbayev said.
"The purpose of the Ak Kalpak Day is to promote the revival and preservation of the national identity of Kyrgyz living outside the Kyrgyz Republic," he said.
