The number of citizens of the countries of Central Asia living in Russia has decreased, with the exception of Kyrgyz citizens, Interfax news agency reported, citing the data of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia.
The number of entries and exits of foreign citizens in the territory of Russia has decreased by almost 70% in comparison with previous years.
"Perhaps, decrease of labor migrants is conditioned by the complexity of finding the low-skilled jobs," Head of the Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovsky said.
More citizens of Ukraine and Moldova come to Russia, despite the overall decline in inflows of migrants, he noted. The number of citizens of China, North Korea, and South Korea coming to Russia has increased as well.
